A police officer's wife sigh of relief

Well I have to say Thank you Lord Jesus. And here is why. Today is the first day my husband W is working a desk job in his 14 years as a police officer. He has been in the force for 14 years and has been in patrol for those 14 years. Everytime there is something major going down in his district they call him. He is a well seasoned veteran and he is a big guy. He is 6'1 and 250lbs. All muscle. When guys are giving the other officer a hard time they always call W. One look at him and I guess the crums decide to not and try stuff. Anyhow up until his last work day on Wednesday of last week.. I always had that gnawing feeling that something would always happen to him. I guess most police wives go through this. He has been shot at. Hit by crums. He has been spat on, slapped by women crums. He has caught a murderer. He has taken down people under the influence of drugs and tried to fight him. I believe he has a angel. In his 14 years nothing major has happened to him as far as getting hurt. He took the sargents test and is waiting to see if he will be promoted in a year. He decided to get off the road and work in the juvenile division for us..his family. They counsol kids who run away or are turning into crums. He will still carry his badge and gun but now he can wear regular clothes. I dont have to worry about traffic stops anymore. I dont have to worry when he dosen't answer his cell phone. We have lost too many police officer friends by gunfire or car accidents. He will have weekends off and all holidays now. He doesnt have to make anymore excuses as to why he cant be with us or we have to delay birthdays and Christmases or New years. He will be there for five years. He said his next five years will probabaly be working in another office position such as criminal investigation division or firearms, then he will retire with full pay. I am thankful he is off the road and I pray for all the other officers who have to be. Stay safe and I will pray that your wives and families can breath a sigh of relief when you get off the road.
