I got this in the mail today with his graduation information. Of course it said dont book your tickets for graduation until 1 week before graduation in case your son or daughter doesnt? Or if you can get "refundable tickets". He is probably freezing his butt off in Missouri. I just went to the MSN weather website and said it was 9 degrees there. It was 83 today here. I asked him what he wanted for Christmas. He said nothing just regular clothes for when he gets here. I might just go and get him a gold cross or something. It made my day better gettting this picture. I did go online today and did something I normally wouldnt have but I cant get this kid out of my head. His name is Keith Matthew Maupin.. He is the only missing soldier there in IRAQ. I bought one of those magnetic ribbons with his picture in the middle of it. Its a POW/MIA magnetic ribbion you put on your fridge or car. I started thinking about it and thought if my son was missing OVER THERE ..I would want everyone to remember him. I would want no one to forget him. My husband thinks I get too involved in stuff that shouldn't matter to me. Well it should matter to someone. I bet his parents cant forget him and since he went over there for us..Us Americans.. well thats the least I can do for him. I hope he comes home one day. I hope they all come home soon. For now ...he is going on my car for everyone to remember him.

Oh Linda! He looks so handsome in his uniform! You should be so proud of him... And you are so lucky to get those pictures in the mail! We have to wait until boot camp graduation to get ours (boot camp is a lot shorter for a/f)...
The Maupin story breaks my heart too.
Thanks Kim ..my son just looks too grown up. I cant believe it. I am proud though. I was reading his letter from the commander about graduation and I was reading out loud to my husband, I had to catch myself because I started to get all choaked up.
OK LINDA,,,, just how old did you say he is,,, I got 5 who need lookers like that!!!!!!!!
I would be very proud too.
He is 20 and will be 21 at the end of March. He has had some doozys for girlfriends but he is single now. He wrote me a letter telling me he wants to find a wife and have some kids one day. Hey not too soon.. I am not ready to be a grannie yet.
