Yep 10years ago today I got hitched for the 2nd time in my life. It wasnt as elaborate as this but I did wear the same color of dress at the bridesmaids in this picture. We got married in the judges chambers at the courthouse and oh lord I could see it now. My mother inlaw crying and crying. It should of spoke loud and clear to me that day but I didnt care. I was marrying this great guy who had a lot of baggage but then so did I. I let my baggage go from that day on but unfortunely he didnt. So we went through trials and tribulations like most married couples. Would I do it again? If I had to do it all over again I would have made sure his family stayed at a long distance. Ex-wifes included. I think I would have waited for all the kids to be grown. Less friction. He has his moments but then I do too. After the 2nd time around things are easier as to what I will choose to fight about. I dont fight or argue over silly stuff I did in my 1st marriage. We never had a honeymoon or a cake or a dinner. Money was tight for us and his family wasnt about to do anything for me. I was the heathen who took their son and I had kids...so did he but to them his kids were angels. Boy did that prove wrong. Well we both rolled the dice and hoped for the best. It has mostly been a hard road dealing with his kids and mine too,and also his family too. Mine dont get involved in married stuff. Anyhow I will never forget the day we met. I was walking down the hallway at work and seen a mutual friend of ours and there was my husband to be,wanting to know "WHO was that?", I came back and met him ..shook his weak handshake and left. By the time I got upstairs to go to work there was already two phone calls to my coworkers wanting to know if I was married. He called a week later asking if I would go to a benifet concert for two policemen who had died in a tragic accident. I went but really I forgot what he looked like. My friend Nancy was there and walked me in. I was plesantly surprised to see him. He had been drinking because he later told me he was scared. After the concert he walked me to my car and kissed me on my cheek. I thought for sure he was going to liplock me. Never did. He called again 1 week later and we went to brunch. He met my kidslater , I met his and his family. And the rest is history. We have nothing planned tonight.No big night on the town. No expensive gifts. We are taking the youngest kids to Zipppys ..a family resturant when he gets off of work. We will probably watch t.v and fall asleep. This marriage is like a pair of comfy slippers at times. Nice and warm. Sometimes you wish you bought a new pair but you always go back to the comfy nice and warm ones.
