November 29th/ R~E~S~P~E~C~T

Today was W's day off and he came home last night coughing and sneezing and all achy. Crap ..so today I have to drive him to the doctors office to find out he has another virus. Its his second one in a matter of weeks. We just got over that crud/flu/not the flu a couple or weeks ago. So what are the chances I am going to get it? He goes to court in the morning to find out if his son can be court ordered to go into some sort of rehab program. We are trying to have faith but the court system here sucks. This kid is staying with his mom who basically doesnt make him go to school. We just got the attendance report from the school. W is angry and heartbroken about all this. Almost every police family I know has at least one kid like that in their family. Kids today just aren't that threatened anymore by their parents. I remember I was terrified in getting hit and if I ever talked back I wouldn't see tomorrow. We never swore in front of our parents. Or lied or stole. I was no saint but to do this stuff outright to a parent... I would have been signing my death warrant for sure. It is called R~E~S~P~E~C~T. Ya ..Aretha got it right. It was a unknowing thing that you just did with your elders and parents. Oh yeah I had some disagreements and there were times I might have said a word or two back. But never in wildest dreams would I have behaved as some children I know have. Anyhow W is going to the Big Island on the 13th for his interview with the chief of police next. I pray it all works out.....but I know my husband ....and he doesnt forgive people and I mean anyone who has done him wrong. Its just a irregular gene he carries I guess.
